Dumping investigations are increasing for steel and aluminium goods. It is important that importers and exporters are well aware of their obligations.

The most important initial task of an importer is to make sure your supplier is aware of the investigation and the importance of being involved.  This will mean that the importer has a chance to get a specified dumping duty rate, rather than the (usually high) general duty rate.

While there can be lengthy debates about the merits of Australia’s dumping system, it is important that all interests are heard and all parties are involved in investigations where they are importers/exporters of commodities relating to investigations.
