Due to the recent increase in exotic stinkbug detections on Chinese origin break bulk cargo and RoRo vessels additional measures are being implemented for RORO vessels that load cargo in a Chinese port.
They will now undergo mandatory seasonal pest intervention. The increased measures will be a seasonal pest inspection (SPI) on arrival followed by mandatory fogging and residual spray insecticide with a follow up SPI.
More details can be found in the DAFF Import industry advice notices 2022 or by contacting us for further details.
This will cause additional delays on imported cargo, and may also be additional costs borne by importers via DAFF or the shipping line.
These measures are due to be revised on 9/1/2023.
